Singer Guy Sebastian will marry his girlfriend of eight years, Jules Egan, this year after popping the question at Christmas.
Sebastian, 26, who took out the first Australian Idol series in 2003, surprised his long-time girlfriend with a white gold ring set with 140 diamonds during their Christmas holiday on the central Queensland coast, New Idea magazine reports.
Along with the ring, the singer/songwriter presented 28-year-old Ms Egan with a fully furnished holiday home near the beach, a four-wheel drive in the garage, and a Louis Vuitton handbag under the Christmas tree. Sebastian organised the surprise last year while touring to promote his fourth record, The Memphis Album.
"At the end I was completely exhausted, but it was worth it," Sebastian told the magazine. "I'm marrying the woman I want to spend my life with."
