The Kings Arms sign has gone missing.
Owners of an Auckland bar say they're "gutted" after the theft of the venue's iconic sign.
The venue, which is in its final month of operation, says its sign was stolen "in the early hours of Sunday morning".
In a Facebook post, it said the current owners of the bar "had planned to keep it in the family" and pleaded for its return.
They also said a clock was missing from the front bar.
The thefts have ocurred as the Kings Arms winds down operations after decades operating as a bar and live music venue.
The site was purchased for $7.4 million in 2016 and up to 105 apartments are planned to replace the current bar.
They said: "Sorry, but we've had to remove a number of items from the bars now, to head off thefts, even though we still have a month to go!"
Acts performing over the venue's last month include The D4, Elemeno P, Wiki, Cattle Decapitation, Dimmer and Jordan Luck.
Its last day is February 28.
