Let's face it, barring serious injury, it's always funny when someone falls.
It's even more worthy of a giggle when it's a celebrity taking a tumble.
Stars get praised when they do something good and are adored by fans so it's only fair that we should laugh harder when they slip.
Madonna has written herself into best celebrity falls of all time with her spectacular tumble at the Brit Awards, which was her first performance at the occasion in 20 years.
A dancer pulled on her cape in an apparent attempt to remove it but it stayed put and Madonna was dragged backwards off stage.
"Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for the good wishes! I'm fine! #livingforlove," she said on Instagram afterwards.
Even our own Dame Edna Everage has sympathy for the Material Girl: "Believe it or not, even I've fallen off stage before. Let's hope it doesn't happen tonight @CTGLA," Everage tweeted.
Indeed Madge shouldn't sweat it, as she is in esteemed company:
