Grand Theft Auto V's next-gen launch confirmed

Rockstar has dated both the new-gen and PC enhanced editions of Grand Theft Auto V.

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One editions will be available from November 18. The PC edition will land on January 27, 2015.

The game originally launched on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in September last year, to critical acclaim. It has shipped more than 33 million units so far.

The port to PlayStation 4 was announced during Sony's E3 press conference. The ports will offer "enhancements and new details", including technical advancements such as "increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic and enhanced resolutions".

Players of Grand Theft Auto V on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will be able to transfer their saved characters and progress in Grand Theft Auto Online to the PC, PS4 or Xbox One version (as that data is saved in the cloud using Rockstar Social Club).

All of the new Grand Theft Auto Online content - such as weapons, vehicles, properties, customisations, and jobs - that has been added to the original game since it was launched will be included in the new-gen and PC versions.

The PC version will also include a video editor for players to cut together clips of in-game action.
