Organisers have said the ceremony will take place with “a renewed sense of purpose” amid the disaster, which claimed at least 29 lives and destroyed thousands of homes.
The Recording Academy released a statement earlier this month, saying, “Dear Recording Academy Members, Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.
“This city is our home, and we mourn the loss of life and destruction that have come to it in recent days.
“In response to this crisis, the Recording Academy and MusiCares launched the Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort last week with an initial US$1 million [$1.76m] donation to support music creatives and professionals.”
They added the 2025 Grammys would help raise “additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts and [honour] the bravery and dedication of first responders who risk their lives to protect ours.”
Who is hosting the Grammys this year?
Trevor Noah, 40, will host the ceremony for the fifth year in a row.
Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Cynthia Erivo, John Legend, Jacob Collier, Sheryl Crow, Stevie Wonder and others will reportedly perform tributes “celebrating the city of Los Angeles” following the wildfires.
Which artists are leading nominations this year?
Beyoncé leads this year’s nominations with 11 - including record and album of the year and best country album. This year’s ceremony could mark a first for the artist, who has never won the coveted album of the year Grammy.
Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Charli xcx and Post Malone closely follow with seven nominations each, while Taylor Swift landed six.
