Good Life management took to Facebook to confirm the haunting, saying they checked with the photographer who had taken the original image and the memory stick also shows the ghost - so it's not just internet trickery.
They have also spoken to the team at the Brisbane Showgrounds where the festival is held, and found out there is an old warehouse which staff refuse to go near after repeated sightings of a young girl.
Good Life describe the ghost as that "of a young girl holding a teddy and hovering on the roof of a building overlooking the festival", and say "it is rumoured a little girl named Lucy died at the site in the early 1900s and has haunted it since."
A commenter on the post added that the girl was rumoured to be Lucy Jane McConnel, whose father was the president of the RNA Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland - which owns and operates the showgrounds.
However, some are calling foul saying the picture looks a bit too similar to the ghost girl which appears in the game Grand Theft Auto 5, while others compare her with the girl from hit horror film The Ring.
The more skeptical of the bunch point out that if nothing else, the ghost appearance is a smooth marketing move for the festival, ramping up its talkability.
