The long-term couple sparked engagement rumours after Zendaya was spotted wearing a sizeable diamond on her left ring finger while attending the Golden Globes — a sparkler understood to be the work of a Kiwi designer.
Zendaya and Tom Holland are reportedly engaged — if the actress’s sparkling ring finger at the Golden Globes is anything to go by.
But a diamond ring on Zendaya’s left hand also caught the attention of eagled-eyed spectators, intensifying speculation she and her long-term partner, British actor Tom Holland, are engaged.
As reported by People, the ring in question is believed to be the 5.02ct East-West Cushion Diamond Button Back Ring from the London-based, New Zealand-born luxury jeweller Jessica McCormack.
According to the brand’s website, the ring features a dazzling 5.02ct cushion diamond, set in an 18k white and yellow gold band.
While neither Zendaya nor Holland have publicly commented on the speculation, several outlets have since confirmed the rumours, with People reporting the two are officially engaged.
Citing sources close to the couple, TMZ also confirmed the news, prompting E! News to follow suit.
In an article for the Los Angeles Times, arecently engaged writer claimed she showed off her ring to Zendaya on the red carpet, prompting the actress to point out her own in response. When asked outright if it was an engagement ring, the outlet reported Zendaya simply “smiled coyly and shrugged her shoulders mysteriously”.
Another clue cited by media is that the rest of Zendaya’s jewellery at the Golden Globes was by luxury Italian fashion house Bulgari, for which she is an ambassador. The left-hand ring in question, however, was notably absent from a press release that shared the details of her accessories.
News of the reported engagement comes more than three years after the pair went public with their romance, which followed a stint as co-stars and on-screen lovers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man films.
Holland was not in attendance at the Golden Globes, despite Zendaya being nominated in the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy category for her role as Tashi Donaldson in Challengers. The globe was ultimately won by Demi Moore for her performance in The Substance.
At the time of writing, Zendaya and Holland have not responded to media requests for comment.
