Kiwi film director Jane Campion's The Power of the Dog has snagged seven Golden Globe Award nominations.
Sir Kenneth Branagh's autobiographical film Belfast and Campion's Western that features Benedict Cumberbatch are both up for seven prizes each – including Best Motion Picture, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.
Branagh has two nominations for Best Director and Best Screenplay with stars such as Jamie Dornan also recognised.
Campion will go up against Branagh for her film The Power of the Dog with Benedict and co-star Kirsten Dunst nominated for acting prizes for their performances.
Other stars to be nominated for acting awards include Will Smith for King Richard, Kristen Stewart for Spencer and Lady Gaga for House of Gucci.
Olivia Colman, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Leonardo DiCaprio, Andrew Garfield and Denzel Washington are also in the running for gongs, with the nominees revealed by Snoop Dogg on Monday.
Succession leads the TV nominations with five, while The Morning Show and Ted Lasso both have four each.
The ceremony will take place on January 9, 2022 but will not be televised after TV network NBC dropped it after a series of revelations that included a lack of diversity among voters.
It was revealed earlier this year that none of the 87 members of the organisation behind the awards – the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) – were black.
