We've had Alien vs Predator. We're about to get Batman vs Superman. Now, prepare yourself for the movie mash-up fight you didn't know you wanted until right now.
Deadline.com reports the upcoming Kong: Skull Island, the latest King Kong remake, has moved from Universal Pictures to Warner Bros, the studio that produced last year's Godzilla.
This is to bring the two classic monsters together in an epic showdown that will see Kong and Godzilla fight each other for the first time on screen.
Details are scarce as Deadline says the move is currently in the process of being written. However, it will take place after Godzilla 2, which is scheduled for July 2018. That movie will include more characters from the Godzilla universe, including Mothra and Rodan.
Kong: Skull Island is set for an American release in March 2017. Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson are set to star, with Samuel L Jackson being eyed for a role. King Kong was last seen on film in Peter Jackson's 2005 remake.
