Alexis Bledel and Jared Padalecki star as on-again-off-again couple Rory and Dean in Gilmore Girls.
All the ex-boyfriends will be back for the Netflix revival of Gilmore Girls.
It has been revealed that actor Jared Padalecki will be reuniting with the cast of Gilmore Girls for the reunion of the beloved TV series, which will feature four 90-minute episodes.
Padalecki played the role of Dean in the first season of the show and eventually became Rory Gilmore's (Alexis Bledel) first serious boyfriend in the show.
He will join actors Milo Ventimiglia, who played Rory's ex Jess and Matt Czuchry, who played Logan in the later seasons of the show.
The heart-throb exited the show after season five to star in the cult hit TV series Supernatural, where he took up the role as Sam Winchester, alongside actor Jensen Ackles, who portrays his brother Dean. In the show the Winchester brothers hunt demons, vampires, ghosts and more - the show is currently in its 11th season.
Girlmore Girls and Supernatural are both shows produced by Warner Bros, so it is likely the studio had a hand in seeing the actor have time off, allowing him to be part of the Netflix series.
Padalecki's return to Gilmore Girls has excited fans of the show and the man himself shared in their joy, posting to Twitter "I'm heading back to Stars Hallow! Time to brush off my turtleneck ..."
However, he's not the only ex who has confirmed his return, according to Variety, actor David Sutcliffe, who played Lorelai Gilmore's (Lauren Graham) ex, and Rory's father, will appear in the Netflix reboot.
Other cast members to have confirmed their return include Scott Patterson (Luke), Liza Weil (Paris), Kelly Bishop (Emily), Sean Gunn (Kirk), Keiko Agena (Lane) and Yanic Truesdale (Michel). Although, Bridesmaids star Melissa McCarthy who made her starts as Sookie, Lorelai's best friend on the show, is reportedly not going to be reprising her Gilmore Girls role.
Netflix is yet to announce a release date for the show, or how many episodes each of the returning cast members will star in, although it has been confirmed that the four episodes will represent the four seasons of a year.
