Those longing for a repeat of the Wu Tang Clan member's near classic album, Fishscale, from 2006 are out of luck. This collection is not so much a Greatest Hits album, more like a rag-tag bunch of tracks from his first two solo albums, previously unreleased material, and best of all, a bunch of remixes.
The standouts are the stealth surge and flow of Apollo Kids and the stripped-back beats of Street Opera, with a stunning sample of Michael Jackson's Ain't No Sunshine.
Of the remixes the opening drug anthem, Kilo, is a typically mischievous way to kick things off , but it's The Champ which comes out swingin' like the pure bred hip hop heavyweight anthem that it is.
So, the album is one for the fans really. It could also be an album for those wanting to catch up on just what Ghostface Killah's come up with since he and the other Wu members went their separate ways.
But beware of his collaboration with Ne-Yo and Kanye West on Back Like That - it's wimpy, and that's one thing Ghostface is not.
