KEY POINTS:
Sir Bob Geldof is coming back to New Zealand, despite ruffling feathers last time he was here.
The Boomtown Rats star, equally as famous for his Live Aid humanitarian efforts, will not be performing, but will speak at a gala charity dinner in Auckland next month.
Money raised will go to the Manukau Community Foundation, which runs projects for youth, senior citizens, English literacy, rape prevention and parenting programmes for migrant women.
Sir Bob will talk about the need for change and how he and others can make a difference. The last time he was in New Zealand in July 2006, he infuriated many by claiming New Zealand's contribution to world aid was "shameful" and "pathetic".
Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters fired back, telling Geldof he had failed to recognise the quality of New Zealand's aid or its contributions.pepeGeldof angered many in Australia by voicing similar claims about its foreign aid contributions.
