Get your glow stick fired up and head on down to Vector Arena on January 4 for the annual summer dance party Summadayze. And because Benny Benassi, whose video for Satisfaction features chicks in hot pants and skimpy tops using power tools is playing, you might want to charge up your electric drill and battery-powered jack hammer too.
Also at Summadayze will be Australian dance act Sneaky Sound System, Sister Bliss from British band Faithless and French superstar David Guetta. Locals include Concord Dawn, Bevan Keys and Dick Johnson. Tickets on sale from Monday from Ticketmaster.
For something a little different, Oz rockers Airbourne return to play four dates including Ward Lane in Hamilton on November 30 and the Winchester (formerly the Pinnacle) in Auckland on December 1.
For something different, two American singer/songwriters. Chicago-based instrumentalist Andrew Bird plays the Dogs Bollix on January 16. San Francisco DIY-pop maestro Kelley Stoltz plays at the Bollix on February 1.
Shapeshifter have announced some summer dates at the Coroglen Tavern, Coromandel on December 26, Waihi Beach Hotel December 27 and Butler's Reef in Oakura, December 28.
Meanwhile, the support for John Cale at the Bruce Mason Centre on November 15 is Jed Town with a band of mystery guests, playing under the name Ghost Town.
