Game of Thrones star spotted at Auckland restaurant

Game of Thrones star Alfie Allen was spotted dining at Auckland's Rockefeller Oyster Bar on Fanshawe St today.

A Herald reader, who did not want to be named, said she did a double take when she saw Allen eating lunch with a group of about five men and women.

She said there were other diners in the restaurant at the time, but no one seemed to be making a big deal about the British actor, who plays Theon Greyjoy or Reek in the hit series..

The reader spotted him about 11.30am and he was still there when she walked past about 30 minutes later.

"He definitely stood out because he looked familiar," the Game of Thrones fan said.

The manager of Rockefeller did not want to confirm whether Allen had dined there today, adding he is not sure he would have even recognised him.

Allen has been in New Zealand promoting season of the hit series.

Part of his tour included visiting NZME's offices yesterday where he spoke with ZM's Fletch, Vaughan and Megan, Mike Hosking on Newstalk ZB and Hauraki's Matt and Jeremy.
