Game of Thrones fans will be happy to know the fantasy drama could potentially run for 10 years, if HBO bosses get their way.
The hit HBO TV series, based on George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire books, is about to premiere its fifth season in April, while major cast members have had their contracts renewed through to season seven - if not killed off beforehand.
Creators David Benioff and Dan Weis previously hinted the series would come to an end after the seventh season, but they tell Entertainment Weekly the show's closure is influenced by multiple factors.
"We don't want people to finally see the end and say, 'Thank God that's over'. We know basically how many hours are left in this story. We don't want to add ten hours to that. It's about finding that sweet spot so it works for us and for HBO and, most of all, it works for the audience."
HBO programming president, is hoepful about the show potentially continuing past seven seasons, but says he trusts Benioff and Weis would make the right decision.
