Australia's master of horror James Wan has been tapped to direct the superhero movie Aquaman.
Former Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa will portray the DC Comics character, the ruler of the underwater kingdom Atlantis, and now the Warner Bros. project has found its director in Wan.
A statement issued by Warner Bros. boss Greg Silverman reads: "The Aquaman film will be a major tentpole picture for us and James's span of work has proven him able to take on any manner of project, bringing his incredible creative talent and unique voice to the material."
Wan's directing credists include Furious 7, the Insidious movies and The Conjuring. He is also the man behind the cult Saw franchise.
