A musical about bread, a mockumentary about a demented stage mother and a buddy movie with a sinister twist are among the finalists from this year's 48 Hours Furious Film-making competition.
A total of 14 films will feature in Saturday night's grand final event at Auckland's Civic Theatre, including Sir Peter Jackson's wildcard choices.
The final line-up includes former and current Shortland Street stars, an X Factor finalist and the brother of the country's most ubiquitous comedian (you'll wonder why he looks so familiar until the penny drops).
Now in its 13th year, the competition is a major feature on the film and TV calendar as more than 800 teams take part.
Grand final contenders went before an international judging panel, including Oscar-nominated writer Josh Olson.
