Melanie Brown's husband Stephen Belafonte has vowed to take legal action over reports suggesting the pop star has become a victim of domestic violence.
The status of the former Spice Girl's marriage to film producer Belafonte hit headlines last week, after she was admitted to a UK hospital with a mystery illness and then appeared on British talent show The X Factor over the weekend without her wedding ring and sporting what appeared to be scratches and bruises on her skin.
Brown has yet to comment on the fevered speculation, but Belafonte has now spoken out to clear up the rumours, insisting he is unaware of any abuse allegations.
Speaking to Britain's Daily Mail, he said, "Who accused me of it (beating his wife)? Did she accuse me of it? The police? The hospital? Who accused me of it? No one has accused me of anything."
He then claimed not to have seen any of the UK tabloid stories in recent days, alleging Brown had walked out on her husband of seven years, and threatened to sue over the reports.
