A former Australian Idol judge has been found dead in an apartment in eastern Sydney.
Jay Dee Springbett, 36, was found dead in a Woolloomooloo apartment late yesterday.
Officers went to the apartment on Thursday afternoon, after "concerned acquaintances" called emergency services to check on Mr Springbett when he could not be contacted, a NSW Police spokeswoman told AAP on Friday.
Paramedics were called to the scene but Mr Springbett was "deceased on examination", a spokeswoman for Ambulance NSW said.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
Mr Springbett was a Sony Music talent scout before he was appointed as an Australian Idol judge in 2009, replacing Kyle Sandilands.
