Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has joined the ranks of Lorde fans, calling her hit song Royals a "revolution in the sea of bullshit".
In an interview with The Red Bulletin, Grohl revealed it was his idea to include Lorde in this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which saw Nirvana inducted in April.
Lorde performed alongside surviving members of Nirvana - drummer Grohl and bassist Krist Novoselic.
"Lorde was my idea," said Grohl. "Her song Royals is its own little revolution in the sea of bullshit.
"Pop music in America right now is so superficial. It's fun to listen to, to turn up in your car when you're in traffic, but there's no substance at all. It's devoid of any meaning.
