KEY POINTS:
New Zealand comedy duo Flight of the Conchords' television show has been shortlisted for this year's Emmy awards.
In the self-titled HBO series, Wellington pair Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie play marginally talented folk singers struggling to make it in New York.
The show is included in the list for 'Outstanding Comedy Series' along with 9 other series.
The Emmys announcement follows an already successful year for the duo, who picked up a Grammy for best comedy album in February and had the soundtrack from the TV show go to number three the American billboard charts.
Other shows on the shortlist include Emmy winners for the last two years, 30 Rock and The Office, both on NBC, as well as CBS's bawdy sitcom Two and a Half Men, Fox's animated series Family Guy, and ABC's Ugly Betty and Pushing Daisies.
The 60th Primetime Emmy Awards will take place September 21, and will also include awards for TV actors, actresses, mini-series, made-for-TV movies and a host of other honours.
