KEY POINTS:
Established actor, theatre director and television reporter Jesse Peach turned his hand to a new project last Thursday, opening the first musical production by his Peach Theatre Company.
Blood Brothers, by Willie Russell, is one of the West End's longest running musicals and explores the question of nature v nurture by following the lives of fraternal twins separated at birth.
The show is the fourth production by Peach's company and stars veteran actors Annie Whittle and Ray Woolf alongside up-and-comers Ashley Hawkes and Nicolas Kyle.
Blood Brothers runs at the Glen Eden Playhouse Theatre until April 19. Tickets are available from iTicket.
Highlight: The strong TV3 contingent that attended the premiere to support their young colleague, including Kate Rodger, David Farrier, Jaquie Brown and Bob McNeil.
Lowlight: After a late start, the 2 1/2-hour show saw some up past their bedtime on a school night.
