And the winner is ... Boobs!

Maria Tutaia skipped the sporting awards across town and instead attended the music awards - and amen to that. First the statuesque netballer shared in a joke about host Dai Henwood's height (she's at least a foot taller than him), then joked about her cleavage while presenting the Breakthrough Artist award. She continued the joke, announcing the winner as "Boobs" instead of Broods. Can someone give this prankster a lifetime pass to the music awards please?
Lorde shows off her family

Having made so many trips up onto stage, Lorde was obviously running out of things to say - so she took her siblings up with her. The pop star's brother and sister shuffled nervously while their sister accepted the award for Best Single, but it was a touching moment that showed this 18-year-old hasn't forgot her roots. Perhaps they'll follow in her footsteps and make the trip on their own in years to come.
Broods burn down their Bridges

The 'this gave me chills' performance of the night went to Nelson siblings Broods, with a stunning performance of their single Bridges after accepting the Breakthrough Arist award. Sitting at a piano, Georgia Nott cooed for the first few minutes, before standing up and erupting with a howl that showed off just how impressive her lungs are. Can they play a little longer next time please?
That all-female finale

Supergroove are an all-male band, but it was an all-female tribute act that blasted through the Kiwi group's hits to honour their Legacy Award achievements. And Hollie Smith, Iva Lamkum, Ria Hall and Tali did it brilliantly, a supergroup performance that saw the awards night end on a high. Bravo.
