Rockstar has revealed the first trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2, the highly-anticipated sequel (or possible more accurate, prequel) to 2010's smash-hit western.
The 68-second trailer gives away little, showing largely shots of animals and silent characters in a number of gorgeous-looking vistas, from forests to, lakes rivers and fields, and a herd of bison being disrupted as a steam train chugs through.
The main sign of civilisation is a shot of "Worths General Store" as a horse-drawn carriage wheels past. The scene appears to support the idea it is a prequel, with the town looking far less advanced than the Blackwater or Armadillo towns of Red Dead Redemption.
Towards the end of the trailer, a solo character is seen surveying a burning scene, accompanied by the trailer's 17 words: "Listen to me, when the time comes, you gotta run and don't look back. This is over."
