KEY POINTS:
The twin babies of singers Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, Emme and Max, are only one month old and already they have had their first starring role - in a photo shoot for People magazine.
The celebrity magazine published photos of the family in its new issue, accompanied by an interview with the parents in their home on Long Island, New York.
"They spoke candidly about the pregnancy, addressing everything from Jennifer's weight gain to rumors of infertility," People deputy managing editor Peter Castro said in a statement.
"The twins were almost 6lbs each when they were born. And right now, yes, Jennifer has lost a lot of the weight, but she is in no rush to lose all of it, Castro said.
"She is enjoying motherhood and that is what she is concentrating on."
Castro, who spoke to Jennifer ahead of the release of world exclusive photos of the twins in People, also revealed the 38-year-old star was unbelievably proud to be a mother.
He said: "Jennifer described it as the most magical time of her life. She said, 'You know what? You can win an Oscar, you can win a Golden Globe, and as an ambitious artist you strive for those things. But when you have a kid, all of that is irrelevant.' "This is what is most important to her. As she said, 'As a woman this is the biggest thing that can happen to me.' "
Media reports had said People was paying the celebrity couple between US$4m and US$6m for US rights to the first photographs of the babies, but a spokeswoman for People said "recent speculation in the press is wrong."
She declined further comment, saying the magazine does not discuss specific details of its picture deals.
Lopez and Anthony, who has a daughter and two sons from two previous relationships, were married in 2004. It is her third marriage. The couple starred together last year in the movie El Cantante, a film about salsa legend Hector Lavoe.
