Fans of comic book movie adaptations are in for a treat with the debut of the first trailer from upcoming blockbuster The Avengers.
Featuring a who's who of the superhero world, The Avengers is a highly anticipated movie written and directed by Joss Whedon due out on May 3 in New Zealand that brings together characters from throughout Marvel's comicbook superhero universe.
The trailer debuted on Apple's website this morning.
The film has been surrounded in secrecy with little given away in terms of characters or plot. The first hint the film was coming was at the end of 2008's Iron Man, when Samuel L Jackson, as Nick Fury, said: "You have become part of a bigger universe."
As well as Jackson, the new trailer shows that the film will include Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as the Incredible Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill.
