Australian actor Liam Hemsworth takes the fight to the aliens in the first trailer for the sci-fi film Independence Day: Resurgence.
Successor to the original Independence Day (1996) the sequel features the return of stars Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman and director Roland Emmerich.
Newcomer Jessie Usher stars as the son of Will Smith's character from the original, however Smith will not appear in the sequel.
Independence Day: Resurgence premieres in 2016.
