The talents of three of the world’s greatest storytellers – Roald Dahl, Walt Disney and Steven Spielberg – finally unite to bring Dahl’s beloved classic “The BFG” to life.
Disney has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming film The BFG.
Directed by Steven Spielberg, The BFG is a live-action adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic children's novel about a young girl's encounter with the Big Friendly Giant.
The teaser trailer shows Sophie, played by Ruby Barnhill, reading abook in the late hours of the night before she is drawn to the window by a loud noise from outside. She then spots a giant hand from behind a building and runs back to hide under her covers, but the giant has already spotted her. He reaches in through the window but before it's revealed what becomes of Sophie the clip turns to black and we hear Sophie's voice over say: "And that is where our story begins."
The film, which is set for release mid next year, will also star Bill Hader, Mark Rylance and Kiwi actor Jemaine Clement.
