It turns out Game of Thrones may not be the most talked about TV show, after all.
A new Nielsen report has ranked the United States' most-tweeted television series during the 2015-2016 season, counting the tweets posted in the three hours before and the three hours after screening.
Rather than the George RR Martin fantasy drama, zombie favourite The Walking Dead took the cake.
The AMC series averaged 435,000 tweets per episode in the US, while Game of Thrones averaged just 252,000.
Fox's hip hop drama Empire sits between the two, at 387,000 tweets per episode, and the rest of the top 10 is made up of The Bachelor, The Voice, WWE Monday Night RAW, American Horror Story: Hotel, Teen Wolf, Love & Hip Hop and Scandal.
