In what could be considered the strangest pairing since Nickelback supported the Rolling Stones, Black Eyed Pea singer Fergie has been named the opening act for The Police concert next January.
The tour will mark the platinum-selling artist's first solo trip down under, though the singer has performed in New Zealand with the Black Eyed Peas on multiple occasions.
Known for the hit singles London Bridge and Fergalicious, the singer will join previously announced Fiction Plane as the support line up for the Police in Australia and New Zealand.
The Police will play Wellington's Westpac Trust Stadium on January 17, followed by an Auckland concert at Western Springs Stadium on January 19.
Tickets to both concerts are still available via Ticketmaster (Auckland) and Ticketek (Wellington) agencies.
