The failure was compared by some to Sky's failed attempt to broadcast the series opener of the fifth seas of Game of Thrones earlier this year in line with its United States debut
Other NZ Daily Show fans vented on Comedy Central NZ's Facebook page.
Said Tony: "Come on Sky. Or is Comedy Channel at Sky that just seems to screw up. One of the biggest comedy shows, if not one of the biggest shows for any genre, all year and we do not see it. Have to read about it in the NZ Herald. That's good for a 'direct from the US' show!"

Said Dan: "WTF, after the whole 'month of zen' buildup, SKY manages to drop the ball and play the wrong episode? What exactly are they doing with our overpriced subscription money?"
Said Glen: "WTF!!!! No finale and nowhere on the coming schedule shows it."
It appears the show screened in Australia - where "Comedy Central New Zealand" social media accounts are based - on Friday night as scheduled.
Sky Tv issued a statement blaming a technical glitch but was unapologetic to subscribers.
"There was a technical error with Comedy Central NZ receiving the final Stewart hosted Daily Show at 12 midnight Friday fast tracked from the US.
"Sky is still investigating this problem with Comedy Central NZ and Viacom UK.
"As massive fans of The Daily Show ourselves SKY is gutted that this error has affected our customers being able to enjoy this historic TV event fast tracked from the US."
Sky TV's electronic television schedule is now advertising the final to screen near midnight on Monday, which will be more than four days after it was broadcast in the US.
