Aquaman star Jason Momoa has left fans saddened after shaving off his iconic beard.
The 39-year-old recorded the moment on Instagram, where he can be seen shaving in the middle of a plastic-filled desert.
Momoa says "bye" to his famous characters who rocked the beard, including Game of Thrones' KhalDrogo and Aquaman's Arthur Curry.
He said the makeover was in an effort to "make a positive change for the health of our planet."
"A change for the better … for my kids, your kids, the world. Let's make a positive change for the health of our planet. Let's clean up our oceans our land. Join me on this journey. Let's make the switch to infinitely recyclable aluminium. Water in cans, not plastic," he said. "Most importantly, I just wanna do this to bring awareness. Plastics are killing our planet,' he said before promoting an aluminium can drink range, encouraging fans to swap plastic water bottles for the fully recyclable substitute.
Social media users were left devastated by freshly-shaven Momoa - although some are starting to see the positive side.
At first I was devastated when I saw the headline, but then I saw the photo and

Well done guys, first you destroyed the planet and now you destroy Jason Momoa's beard. I don't know which is worse. Shame on you all. #bringbackthebeardhttps://t.co/rVKTcurPqz
