Bill Wyman, 82, has opened up on his controversial marriage to second wife Mandy Smith.
The rock and roll legend tied the knot with the beauty in 1989, when she was just 18 and he was 52.
The Rolling Stones star made the confession in the documentary The Quiet One, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on Thursday night.
In the film, Wyman defends his relationship with her ex teenage wife by sharing: 'It was from the heart. It wasn't lust, which people were seeing it as.'
Reflecting on the decision to marry the young blonde, he added: 'I was really stupid to ever think it could possibly work. She was too young. I felt she had to go out and see life for a bit.'
