Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield are reportedly taking a break after more than three years together.

UsWeekly reports The Amazing Spider-Man co-stars have been fighting lately after struggling with their long distance relationship.

A source told the magazine Garfield has been in Taiwan filming Martin Scorsese's flick Silence, which has left him in a bad place.

"He's lost weight, and he's in a dark place mentally for his performance," the source said.

"He's not boyfriend material right now."

Rumours of a split arose earlier this year after Stone, an Oscar nominee for her role in Birdman, appeared at numerous awards shows solo.

The couple, who first began dating in 2011, haven't been photographed together since January.
