Ed Sheeran talks joining the mile high club and waking up at Jennifer Aniston's house

Ed Sheeran has admitted to being a member of the Mile High Club.

In an interview with Fletch, Vaughan and Megan from ZM before Saturday's concert at Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium, the last of his world tour, the singer speaks about his new Bond watch, Christmas with family and upcoming surgery.

The ZM crew caught up with Sheeran before the show and managed to come up with nine unvetted questions he'd never been asked before.

Things got personal, as Sheeran talked about the time he woke up on Jennifer Aniston's sun lounger after Thanksgiving, going commando and getting dirty on a plane.

"I have joined the Mile High Club," he said sheepishly.

He also admitted to throwing up in a hotel room, "hooking up" with a Kiwi and being refused service at a bar.

Sheeran showed his sweeter side, revealing he has a room at home full of gifts from fans, though he couldn't always accept every present he receives on tour.

"I always make a point of opening the letters and reading them. I'll be honest I can't always take stuff with me."

His strangest purchases since getting rich were all the toys he wasn't allowed when he was young.

"You never get the ultimate thing, but then I got to the point where I was working and earning money and I was like 'I'm just going to go back and get everything I wasn't allowed when I was growing up'."
