KEY POINTS:
This may be your last chance to check out the pottery of Bruce and Estelle Martin for a while.
Kamaka - an exhibition honouring 40 years of their work - at the Gus Fisher Gallery in Shortland St, ends on Friday December 22. And Butterfly Net, 179 Ponsonby Rd, also has a small selection of work chosen by Bruce Martin for sale until Christmas.
The pottery has been crafted in the traditional Japanese anagama manner which involves a wood firing that takes 10 days of nonstop burning.
The results are pots that are earthy and elegant, enough to inspire taking ikebana lessons immediately. This exhibition is also a graceful portrait of a marriage.
