DWTS fundraising revealed: Who was the least popular?

Simon Barnett raised more than $30,000 for the Salvation Army during his time on Dancing With the Stars NZ.

Dancing With The Stars raised less than $75,000 for charity this year, with winner Simon Barnett raising the most money, earning $30,706 for the Salvation Army.

It's a far cry from the series' glory days, when it raised more than $400,000 in 2009.

According to TVNZ, which broadcast the series between 2005 and 2009, the competition raised $1.75 million for New Zealand charities throughout its time on the network.

However, figures released by MediaWorks show this year's return to the dance floor raised just $74,667.54.

Text votes cost 99c, equating to around 75,422 votes cast throughout the 10-week series.

Former Outrageous Fortune star Siobhan Marshall was the runner-up when it came to fundraising, earning $10,720 for South Pacific Animal Welfare.

Meanwhile, finalist Chrystal Chenery earned $9046 for Christchurch's Home and Family Society.

Former model and TV host Colin Mathura-Jeffree raised the least money, earning just $1301 for Alzheimers New Zealand.
