A low-budget short film made in Dunedin has been selected to screen at a the Moondance International Film Festival in Hollywood.
Cake Tin, a film by fledgling collective Screen Dunedin, was directed by first-time film-maker Rosemary Riddell.
Shot in black and white in the depths of winter, Cake Tin stars veteran actor Louise Petherbridge (Starlight Hotel, Pictures) and Mark Nielson (Out of the Blue, Scarfies). It tells the tale of a rest home resident who escapes and heads off into the world in search of adventure.
