Paul Henry leaves the country and there is a drop in the number of complaints to the Broadcasting Standards Authority.
The BSA's annual report shows it received 195 complaints and made 162 decisions this year, compared with a record high last year of 236 decisions.
It is not saying the absence of a certain controversial broadcaster is a factor, but it does say that contributing to that record high were a number that related to single broadcasts.
The number of upheld decisions and orders issued also reduced.
BSA Chief Executive Susan Freeman-Greene says it is too early to say if this is a trend.
