KEY POINTS:
Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has been told to curb his drinking or face being cut from the band's proposed autumn tour of the US.
A source told the UK's Daily Express that all members of the band were required to undergo pre-tour medicals to ensure they could get insurance.
"Ronnie failed his medical for the 2002/2003 tour because he was drinking seven times the recommended number of alcohol units a week," the source said.
"He had to spend a month drying out at a clinic in Arizona."
"There are worries that could be the case again this time," the source added.
The 61-year-old rocker made headlines last year when he left his wife of 23 years for a 19-year-old Russian cocktail waitress.
