Hit drama 24 is returning to TV without Kiefer Sutherland.
TV executives at Fox have ordered a pilot for a new series of the show, but it won't feature Sutherland's original counter-terrorism ace Jack Bauer.
Instead, the tentatively titled 24: Legacy, will follow the fortunes of a military hero who helps prevent one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil.
The pilot is expected to shoot early this year, but no casting has been announced.
Sutherland, last year, told UK newspaper the Daily Telegraph he had no desire to reprise his Jack Bauer character after playing the hero on TV from 2001 to 2010.
