KEY POINTS:
Rocker Pete Doherty arrived in a London court so late that the judge had issued an arrest warrant.
The troubled Babyshambles singer pleaded guilty to possessing crack cocaine, heroin, cannabis and ketamine, and to two driving offences.
Doherty was ordered to enter rehab or face jail after pleading guilty.
District Judge Davinder Lachhar adjourned sentencing until August 7 on the condition Doherty entered rehab.
Lachhar told Doherty: "If you go to detox I will see what sentence is appropriate. But if you do not, you will be going into custody."
Doherty also pleaded guilty to two driving offences and faced a new charge of failing to appear in court without a reasonable excuse - following his arrival at midday instead of 9.30am.
The 28-year-old star - who has reportedly split from supermodel Kate Moss following allegations he cheated on her last week - confirmed he had moved out of her North London home.
Doherty gave Moss' St John's Wood address as his own, before breaking down in tears and mumbling, "Actually, that's changed".
He then gave an address in Hackney, East London.
Doherty's lawyer Sean Curran revealed his client was planning to enter a five-day detox programme in Harrogate on July 16.
Doherty said: "I was going into rehab anyway. This was a push. It's rehab or jail."
Doherty was arrested on May 5 after his car was stopped by police in London's Kensington area.
Curran told the court his client had "a difficulty in his personal life which led to him being caught in this situation where he was driving the vehicle".
Meanwhile, Doherty is said to be living in a caravan after Moss threw him out of her home.
After leaving court, he returned to a squalid campsite under a dual carriageway in West London's Shepherd Bush.
He said: "I live here now."
