Christy Carlson Romano was “shot in the face” while taking her husband out for his birthday.
The 40-year-old actress – who has been married to producer Brendan Rooney since 2013 – took her significant other out to shoot clay pigeons for his special day on February 7, but revealed a day later she had sustained an injury during the day out due to the “unsafe firing” of another party and had to be rushed to hospital.
She wrote on Instagram: “Yesterday was my husband’s birthday and I took him to shoot clay pigeons as a present. There was another party with us and they unsafely fired in the wrong direction and shot me in the face. @thebrendanrooney immediately sprung into action, assessed me, and rushed me to the hospital. I was hit in [five] places. One was less than an inch from hitting me directly in my right eye.”
The former Even Stevens star – who has children Isabella, 8, as well as 5-year-old Sofia with Rooney - added it is “too risky” to undergo surgery at this time but she is just “grateful to be alive” following the ordeal.
