New reports claim Rihanna might have feigned illness to get out of performing at the Grammys.

A statement from the stars management said she had bronchitis so severe it was not possible for her to take the stage.

But TMZ offered a different perspective, claiming a meltdown may have been the real cause for her absence.

The gossip site understand she was heard to be "screaming and hysterical" before making an exit from the venue.

TMZ sources described the singer "loudly expressing displeasure over her rehearsal,"
but didn't give a definitive reason why adding only that she walked out and never returned.

While sickness was a legitimate reason to skip the event, it was also noted she sang a perfect rendition of Say You, Say Me, at Lionel Richie charity concert just two nights beforehand.
