Desperate Houswife Longoria to wed

Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria is set to become a blushing bride, announcing her engagement to NBA star Tony Parker to People magazine this morning (NZT).

"Eva and Tony are officially engaged," Longoria's rep, Liza Anderson, told the magazine.

"The couple have never been happier."

24-year-old Parker surprised the petite actress on Wednesday night with an impromptu visit to Los Angeles, where Longoria is based.

Anderson said: "The proposal was romantic and perfect."

The couple plan to marry in France next year, in a "big, happy ceremony with lots of family and friends."
