His talents for deadpan comedy have extended from The Flight of the Conchords to The Daily Show and beyond. He even interned at the White House before giving up his law studies for comedy.

Now there's a chance to see the very droll American comic Demetri Martin doing his acclaimed stand-up act as he heads to New Zealand for two shows next month.

Last seen on his own sketch show - in which he actually did quite a lot of actual sketching - Important Things with Demetri Martin, the sometime Daily Show "senior youth correspondent" will peform at Wellington's Opera House on August 28 and Auckland's SkyCity Theatre the following night.
