Australian dad spends big to take his teenage daughter to Harry Styles concert in Auckland.
There's musical taste, and then there's fatherhood.
The former gives you a solid dose of heavy metal from one of Australia's seminal bands.
The latter takes $3000 from your pocket because you love your daughter so much you'll travel overseas so she can see her favourite singer.
Victoria dad David McCorkindale isn't a Harry Styles fan, but there he was, smile as wide as the Australian outback, at the front of the queue into Spark Arena in Auckland late this afternoon.
Clad in a black AC/DC t-shirt, the 56-year-old and hundreds of others - from children to pensioners - were waiting to see the former One Direction boybander-turned-solo-artist at his Auckland concert.

By his side, wearing a white Harry Styles t-shirt, was the second youngest of his seven children, 16-year-old Jayde.
Of their epic journey to Auckland, which began at their home in Warrnabool, 250 kilometres west of Melbourne, McCorkindale was relaxed.
Styles music was "definitely not" his thing, he said.
"I'm just doing the father-daughter thing ... so she could come here and see her idol."
Besides, it couldn't be helped - the original plan to attend Styles Melbourne or Sydney concerts was scuppered when tickets to both sold out in 90 seconds, McCorkindale said.
"Two minutes later we were onto Spark Arena."
Asked the cost, he hesitated, saying only "ahh, quite a bit", before Jayde revealed their special journey cost $3000.
Pokeno girl Chelsea Tregurtha, 10, was also among those waiting to see the Sign of the Times hitmaker, and also in the company of her dad, Jason Tregurtha.
The concert was a reward for a good report card, and dad wasn't doing it too tough either.
"I wasn't [a Styles fan] but when I finally heard Sign of the Times I thought it sounded quite retro," Jason Tregurtha said.
"[But] it's more fun for me to take her to her first concert."
