Deadwood star Ralph Richeson has died of heart failure.
The 63 year old played grizzled cook Richardson on the cult TV drama.
Richeson died at Palmdale Regional Medical Centre in California, according to reports.
He started out as an extra on the show but creator David Milch offered him a
regular role on the series.
He went on to appear in Hancock and Leonardo DiCaprio's new movie The Revenant.
