The Dark Horse has continued its prize-winning run in the United States winning two prizes at the Seattle International Film Festival.
The acclaimed New Zealand film took away the audience-voted best film as well as the best actor prize for Cliff Curtis.
The Seattle festival which is one of the top events in North America.
The Dark Horse, a story based on the life of bipolar chess champ Genesis Potini directed by James Napier Robertson, was up against the new Pixar film Inside Out among other contenders for Seattle's Golden Needle Space Award for Best Film.
Curtis faced competition from Sir Ian McKellen for his new film Mr Holmes in the best actor category.
