Heavyweight boxer Shane Cameron, broadcaster Simon Barnett and former Bachelor contestant Chrystal Chenery have been confirmed to join a new reboot of Dancing With The Stars, as the full line up is revealed.
The announcement confirms a Herald on Sunday story this week, which reported Pam Corkery, Maz Quinn, Siobhan Marshall, Teuila Blakely, Colin Mathura-Jeffree and Ben Barrington had signed up for the new series.
Radio host Jay-Jay Harvey was the first contestant to be announced last week. She will partner with South African dancer Enrique Johns, who she has already nicknamed "Brown Sugar".
No official launch date has been announced for the popular dance contest but the Herald understands it is due to launch at the end of this month. It will screen on Sunday and Monday nights on TV3.
The X Factor's Dominic Bowden will host the series, alongside radio host Sharyn Casey. Hayley Holt, Stefano Olivieri and Candy Lane will form the judging panel.
Earlier this week, the Herald on Sunday reported The Block NZ fan favourite Damo Neal turned down an invitation to appear, as did fashion maven Denise L'Estrange-Corbet.
Speculation also simmered that former All Saints singer Mel Blatt, a judge for The X Factor NZ, was courted by the show's producers.
Dancing With The Stars originally screened on TV One from 2005 to 2009, before TVNZ announced it was retiring the series due to falling ratings.
MediaWorks purchased the format rights earlier this year as part of its growing reality TV stable, which also includes local versions of The X Factor, The Bachelor, Grand Designs, The Block and Masterchef.
